Giving Back
I sent the subway video out to my kiddos on their iPads, and they wrote down their thoughts and reflections. Then, they made their own videos for Tony and sent them back to me. I compiled them and sent them on to New York for Tony.
Here is the students' video:
Our class has a new friend who we never could have visited without the gift of technology in our classroom. Thank you, Tony, for letting us "visit" the subway!!! We loved it!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day
Luis wanted to share with us something he learned this weekend about the beginning of St Patrick's Day. I LOVE it when they bring in things they have learned elsewhere and have an excitement to share!!!

We want to live like that...
I asked my little posse to write down four facts about Martin Luther King, Jr. today while we watched a short video about his life. As we were sharing the collected facts with the class, one of my sweet girls, in her quiet little voice said, "I wrote down that he said, 'hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.'". It was one of those moments when heaven touches earth and you know that you are in a holy moment. The class was quiet, my eyes got misty, and I said, "boys and girls, I want to live like that, don't you?". My most feisty boy yelled out, "I DO TOO, MRS. WOOD!!!!". Typically, he would have had to move his clip for blurting out, but we let it go that time. I love my posse. I hope that they will always live like that...
